Maleficent is a fictional character created by Walt Disney Productions. She first appeared in the 1959 animated film, Sleeping Beauty, as the primary antagonist.

Depicted as a powerful, horned fairy and self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil," Maleficent curses Princess Aurora, condemning her to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die before sunset on her sixteenth birthday, after not being invited to Aurora's christening.
